The Monkey has truly fallen off of his branch in this case. To give this wonderful and entertaining show only 3 bananas reeks of artistic snobbery to me. In fact, Mama Mia is a GREAT show....if one's criteria for ratings is how enjoyable an evening was had by all. 'Phenomenal singing, in particular by the female lead, whose voice is surely the best in the West End at the moment. I suppose if you prefer to wear all black and imagine yourself to be too sophisticated to enjoy whatever the commoners are watching.....you won't like Mama Mia. If you're looking for the most fun. night out in Theatreland....I suggest Mama Mia wholeheartedly!
